More foreign mercenaries coming to Ukraine, Defense Ministry to soon present some — Putin
The atrocities committed by the mercenaries would definitely be given an impartial legal assessment, the Russian President noted
ST. PETERSBURG, April 27. /TASS/. The number of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine is growing every day, the Russian Defense Ministry will soon present to the public some of the detainees, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting with members of the Council of Legislators of the Federal Council.
"The day before yesterday at the meeting of the Prosecutor General’s Office Board I spoke about the need to form a detailed and irrefutable legislative basis for all the monstrous crimes, violations of international humanitarian law by neo-Nazis, foreign mercenaries, and more and more of them appear there. Once again, several people have been killed and several detained. Soon the Defense Ministry will show them to the public," he said.
The president pointed out that the "atrocities" committed by the mercenaries would definitely be given an impartial legal assessment.
"However, it is necessary to bring up all those issues straightaway at the international level, including at the parliamentary one," Putin added.
On Monday, addressing an expanded meeting of the Board of the Prosecutor General’s Office, President Vladimir Putin focused on numerous breaches of international law by Ukrainian nationalists and foreign mercenaries. Among them are killings of civilians and the use of civilians, including children, as human shields, the president said.
