VILNIUS, April 19. /TASS/. Lithuania’s parliament has prohibited the wearing of the St. George’s ribbon and the use of symbols Z and V in the public space. The corresponding amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences and the law on public rallies were adopted on Tuesday by a 124 majority vote, with one vote cast against and two abstentions.

"These amendments are crucial to maintaining national security, if we wish to escape the fate of Ukraine," one of the initiators of the bill, Monika Osmianskiene, said.

Individuals responsible for violating the ban will be fined 300-700 euros and legal entities, up to 1,200 euros.
