It is noted that the US should stop threatening Moscow and promote Russian-Ukrainian peace talks

BEIJING, April 6. /TASS/. US authorities must demonstrate their commitment to resolving the crisis in Ukraine by lifting sanctions imposed on Russia, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said on Wednesday.

"If the US is sincerely interested in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, <...> they should stop waving the sanctions baton," he stressed at a briefing.

According to the diplomat, White House representatives should stop threatening Moscow and promote Russian-Ukrainian peace talks. "The US is profiting from chaos," Zhao Lijian added. "Sanctions will not bring back peace and security," he concluded.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin in response to the appeal of the leaders of the republics of Donbass, decided to conduct a special military operation. After that, the US, EU, and UK, as well as several other states, announced that they were imposing sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities.
