LPR will not engage in repression of liberated territories, says LPR head
The main task of the authorities is to ensure the transition to a peaceful life as quickly as possible, Leonid Pasechnik stressed
LUGANSK, March 23. /TASS/. The LPR authorities will not engage in repression and will not persecute anyone on the territories of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) liberated from Kiev security forces, LPR head Leonid Pasechnik said on Wednesday during a meeting with the heads of administrations of the liberated districts.
"I repeat once again: there will be no repression, no persecution, no bullying. We bring peace and calm," LuhanskInformCenter quoted Pasechnik as saying.
He called the main task of the authorities "to ensure the transition to a peaceful life as quickly as possible and to ensure the most comfortable living conditions in the liberated territories."
The LPR head stressed that prosecution was possible only for violations of the laws of the republic.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a decision to recognize the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual aid were signed with their leaders. On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin in response to the appeal of the leaders of the republics of Donbass, decided to conduct a special military operation. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow does not intend to occupy Ukrainian territories and the goal is to demilitarize and denazify the country, fighting militant nationalist armed groups that are directly responsible for the genocide in the Donbass.
