NATO has no means to counter Russia’s hypersonic weapons — Serb analyst
Earlier, Vidosav Kovacevic said that Russia’s special operation in Ukraine was a result of NATO’s years-long policy and the rise of Nazism in Ukraine
BELGRADE, March 22. /TASS/. The North Atlantic Alliance is seriously worried by Russia’s hypersonic weapons, because at the moment it has no means to counter them effectively, the leader of the Serbia’s army veterans’ association, Vidosav Kovacevic, said on Tuesday.
"NATO has big problems. They have no countermeasures to this unheard-of and unknown Russian weapon, known as hypersonic missiles. They find it worrisome," he said on a TV news channel.
Earlier, in a commentary to TASS Kovacevic said that Russia’s special operation in Ukraine was a result of NATO’s years-long policy and the rise of Nazism in Ukraine. He recalled that since the elimination of the Berlin wall and the promises given to the Soviet leadership not to expand eastwards NATO has admitted 14 new members since 1997. Russia could no longer tolerate this, Kovacevic said.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov earlier said the Russian forces had used hypersonic missiles Kinzhal to attack a large fuel and lubricants depot in the Nikolayev Region of Ukraine. He said the facility was the main source of engine fuel for Ukrainian armored vehicles involved in combat operations in the south.
