MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Russia opened humanitarian corridors outside Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy and Kharkov in the direction of Russia and western Ukraine on March 16, Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Wednesday.

"At 10 a.m. today we again opened humanitarian corridors and provided their security in the Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy, and Kharkov regions: one corridor in each direction to the east into Russia and one more in each direction through Kiev-controlled territory towards the western borders of Ukraine," he said.

Nevertheless, according to Mizintsev, on Wednesday "the Russian inter-departmental coordination center for humanitarian response did not receive official approval in writing from Ukraine. And, accordingly, the Kiev authorities did not notify representatives of foreign embassies, respective bodies of the UN, the OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations located in Ukraine about the planned humanitarian operations.".
