Over 10,000 ask for evacuation from Ukraine to Russia in past day — Defense Ministry

To date, 2,688,726 people, who are willing to get evacuated from nearly 2,000 populated localities of Ukraine, have already been placed on the database, Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center said

MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. More than 10,600 civilians and foreigners have asked in the past 24 hours to be evacuated from Ukraine to Russia, Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Wednesday.

"To date, 2,688,726 people, who are willing to get evacuated from nearly 2,000 populated localities of Ukraine, have already been placed on the database. In the past 24 hours alone, 10,657 Ukrainian civilians and foreign nationals have applied to official institutions of the Russian Federation and directly to the inter-departmental coordination center via a variety of channels with requests to be evacuated to Russia," he said.
