Ambassador accuses leading UK papers of publishing only fake news about Russian operation
The number of casualties is given based on fake data, Andrey Kelin said
MOSCOW, March 3./TASS/. The leading British newspapers exercise one and the same approach in covering the Russian operation in Ukraine, publishing only fake news, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin said in an interview with NTV TV channel on Thursday.
"All the main four newspapers came out with exactly the same editorials, the photos are the same. Only fake news are published, that we are allegedly erasing cities by bombings, bombing only the civilian population," Kelin said. "The number of casualties is given based on fake data," the ambassador stressed, adding that none of the facts and figures given by the Russian Defense Ministry are mentioned.
"This side is fully ignored. As if the journalists get a special order, and they all sing from the same hymn book, choosing the most violent topic, showing that our army is waging a devastating war against the civilian population," he went on to say.
The diplomats "are combing the newspapers, social networks, programs every morning". "We haven’t found any other point of view in the past few days in British newspapers or in broadcasts,"’ Andrey Kelin stressed.
