Russia’s COVID-19 cases surge by almost 93,000 — crisis center
The country registered 781 deaths and 170,689 recoveries over the past day
MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 93,026 over the past day to 16,685,850, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Thursday.
In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.56%.
As many as 10,620 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down 9.6% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients declined in 48 regions, while in 34 other regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in three regions. A day earlier, 11,754 people were rushed to hospitals.
Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 2,683 over the past day versus 3,024 a day earlier, reaching 2,704,517, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 3,562 over the past day versus 4,514 a day earlier, reaching 1,449,292.

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll surged by 781 over the past day to 354,011.
A day earlier 784 COVID-19 deaths were registered.
The average mortality rate dropped to 2.12%, according to the crisis center.
Patients' recoveries
Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 170,689 over the past day, reaching 14,102,684.
The share of patients discharged from hospitals has risen to 84.5% of the total number of those infected.
A day earlier some 183,530 patients recovered.
The number of patients undergoing outpatient treatment rose to 2,229,155.
