MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. CIS Anti-terrorism Center registers attempts of extremist organizations seek to destabilize situation in CIS states, up to coup attempts, the center’s press office told TASS Wednesday.
"In addition to external threats, the Commonwealth states today face a number of internal challenges as well, connected first and foremost to attempts of extremist organizations to inspire protest sentiments in the society and use them to destabilize the situation, all the way up to coup attempts," the press office said. "The January events in the Republic of Kazakhstan serve as an example, as radicals sought to take advantage of people’s discontent there."

Making his report at the 15th Meeting of heads of CIS national anti-terrorism centers Wednesday, the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center head Yegeny Sysoyev noted that the situation in the world is escalating and tensions at CIS borders are increasing.
