Tochka-U missile fired by Ukrainian army targeted Russian territory, says DPR head
Earlier, it was reported that the republic’s air defense forces shot down a Tochka-U missile fired by the Ukrainian army against the DPR territory
MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. A Tochka-U missile fired by the Ukrainian armed forces on Tuesday morning targeted Russian territory, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said.
"They were shelling not our territory. This was aimed at Russian territory," Pushilin said in a live broadcast on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
Commenting on the information that the missile shot down over the city of Khartsyzsk overnight to March 1 was stuffed with phosphorus, Pushilin said that this was a cause for concern.
"These tactics, if we can say so, were used in Yugoslavia and Iraq. On our territory, they were used back in 2014 in the area of Slavyansk and there is nothing new about that," the DPR head said.
The DPR mission to the Joint Ceasefire Control and Coordination Center reported earlier on Tuesday that the republic’s air defense forces shot down a Tochka-U missile fired by the Ukrainian army against the DPR territory.
