Minsk ready to talk to anyone for sake of peace in region, Lukashenko says
According to Alexander Lukashenko, currently, Minsk is doing everything within its power to help resolve the Ukrainian crisis and stop the bloodshed
MINSK, March 1. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk was ready to talk to anyone at any time for the sake of peace in the region.
"Belarusians, like nobody else, are ready to talk at any time with anyone to create a thin thread of mutual trust for the sake of one goal - peace in the region," the Belarusian leader said at an expanded session of the Security Council on Tuesday.
According to him, currently, Minsk is doing everything within its power to help resolve the Ukrainian crisis and stop the bloodshed. "I am glad that over phone conversations with Zelensky and Putin it became possible, and it was not easy, to organize these talks on Belarusian soil, having personally guaranteed security and the provision of all necessities. We are awaiting results," Lukashenko said.
On February 26, Lukashenko discussed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Minsk’s stance and its degree of involvement with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. On February 28, the Belarusian leader discussed the Ukrainian conflict and the Russian-Ukrainian talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
On February 28, in the Gomel Region, Belarus, the Russian-Ukrainian talks were held that lasted almost five hours. Minsk asserted that it was ready to get involved in the process of settling the situation in Ukraine and to do everything possible in order to find solutions to all critical and problematic issues.
