NATO, Kiev to sign agreement on enhanced cyber cooperation within days — NATO chief
The agreement will also include Ukrainian access to NATO’s malware information sharing platform
BRUSSELS, January 14. /TASS/. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday that the alliance will soon sign an agreement on closer cooperation in the cybersecurity sphere with Ukraine.
"In the coming days, NATO and Ukraine will sign an agreement on enhanced cyber cooperation, including Ukrainian access to NATO’s malware information sharing platform," he said in a statement.
"I strongly condemn the cyber attacks on the Ukrainian Government," he added.
"NATO has worked closely with Ukraine for years to help boost its cyber defenses. NATO cyber experts in Brussels have been exchanging information with their Ukrainian counterparts on the current malicious cyber activities. Allied experts in the country are also supporting the Ukrainian authorities on the ground," Stoltenberg said. "NATO’s strong political and practical support for Ukraine will continue."
Ukraine’s Security Service said on Friday it is conducting a probe into a massive hack of several government websites, including those of the foreign and education ministries and the state services portal, in the small hours on Friday. Most of the attacked resources have resumed their operation, and access to the rest will be restored soon. According to the Ukrainian Security Service, the homepages of the hacked websites featured provocative messages while no harm was done to content of the sites and no personal data was stolen.
