HAVANA, August 4. /TASS/. The prosecutor of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, has issued an arrest warrant for five political and religious leaders as part of the ongoing investigation into the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, the EFE news agency reported.

Among them is Line Balthazar, the head of the ruling Tet Kale party, who criticized Moise’s initiative to amend the country’s constitution, the report says.

The Haitian president suffered a fatal wound when armed intruders stormed his residence on July 7. His wife was also wounded in the attack. Following his assassination, the country’s council of ministers imposed martial law across the country for 15 days. Later, the authorities announced the group that attacked the presidential residence comprised at least 26 citizens of Colombia, and some of them have already been detained.
