GENEVA, June 12. /TASS/. Switzerland is proud of its neutrality, which makes it a credible provider of good services in diplomacy, Swiss President Guy Parmelin said in an exclusive interview with TASS ahead of the Geneva summit between the Russian and US leaders due on June 16.

"We pride ourselves on our long-standing and reliable neutrality, which makes us a credible provider of good services," Parmelin said.

Answering a question what was the secret of Switzerland’s attractiveness and Geneva in particular, as a place for international meetings at the highest level, the president said: "This meeting in Geneva between the American and Russian presidents is a recognition of Switzerland's good offices and neutrality. We are in a position to create the ideal conditions so that the various parties do not have to worry about the logistical aspects and can concentrate on their discussions."

Parmelin emphasized that Switzerland is looking forward to hosting the two leaders in Geneva and "is pleased to once again be the venue for such a high-level meeting and to enjoy the confidence of both parties.".
