Number of coronavirus cases in Mexico reaches over 2.26 mln

MEXICO, February 26. /TASS/. The total number of coronavirus cases in Mexico reached over 2.26 mln. Over the past day, the Mexican authorities have registered 877 deaths among those infected with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths has reached 183,692, epidemiologist at the country’s health ministry Cristian Zaragoza Jimenez said at a press conference.

Over the past two weeks, the number of coronavirus cases rose by 51,100. The spread of infection has been steadily declining since the end of January. Over 1.62 million patients have recovered to date.
