Senior Russian diplomat, UN envoy discuss activity of international formats on Syria

MOSCOW, February 18./TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen discussed at a meeting on Thursday the functioning of multilateral formats on the Syrian settlement, the Foreign Ministry reported.

Bogdanov, who is Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, and Pedersen continued substantive conversation started when the UN envoy had met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, "about the importance of combined international efforts towards facilitating the Syrian settlement on the basis of Resolution 2254 of the UN Security Council," the ministry said.
