Bahrain approves Russia’s Sputnik V jab

MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Bahrain has authorized the use of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, Al Arabiya TV channel reported Wednesday.

In late January, the Bahrain authorities approved the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine to be used in the country. Earlier, Manama authorized China’s Sinopharm jab to inoculate people working closely with COVID-19 patients. Moreover, the country issued approval for the vaccine of Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech in early December.
On December 25, Bahrain’s Health Ministry announced the start of a free vaccination campaign for citizens and foreigners living in the country.
According to the latest data of the national Health Ministry, the country has recorded almost 100,000 COVID-19 infections and around 400 coronavirus-related fatalities since the pandemic began.
