Biden signs 10 executive orders to tackle COVID-19

Defense Production Act is among the signed documents which will ensure increased production of PPE and vaccines

WASHINGTON, January 22. /TASS/. US President Joe Biden has signed ten executive orders Thursday to outline the country’s updated response to the coronavirus pandemic, the White House website broadcasted the ceremony.

In particular, the Defense Production Act is among the signed documents which will ensure increased production of PPE and vaccines.

"Our national plan launches a full-scale wartime effort to address the supply shortages by ramping up production and protective equipment, syringes, needles, you name it," he underlined. Biden added, "We will get through this. We will defeat this pandemic. And to a nation waiting for action, let me be the clearest on this point: help is on the way."

The other orders relate to health guidelines on public transport, reopening of schools with required safety rules in place and various sanitary measures at workplaces.

In December 2020, the Democrat slammed then-President Donald Trump’s COVID-19vaccine rollout, saying that it is going ahead much slower than planned.
