WASHINGTON, January 20. /TASS/. Donald Trump whose term in office expires Wednesday at noon local time has left a letter for his successor Joe Biden to follow an old tradition symbolizing peaceful transition of power, CNN reported Wednesday citing its sources in the White House.

According to the network, the letter’s contents are not clear yet and might be revealed to the public later.

In turn, Melania Trump also left a short welcoming note for future first lady Jill Biden.

On Wednesday, Trump and his wife left the White House and headed to Florida, choosing not to attend Biden’s inauguration ceremony.
