US authorities taking measures to ensure Biden’s safe inauguration, Trump vows
This address was made public after the House of Representatives had voted 232 to 197 to impeach the incumbent president
WASHINGTON, January 14. /TASS/. US Incumbent President Donald Trump has pledged on Wednesday his administration is doing its best to ensure that the inauguration of his successor, Joe Biden, is held safely.
"In Washington D.C. we are bringing in thousands of National Guard members to secure the city and ensure that a transition can occur safely and without incidents," he said in a video address posted of the White House Twitter account.
Trump has called on his fellow citizens to overcome "the passions of the moment" and get united.
"Today I am calling on all Americans to overcome the passions of the moment and join together as one American people. Let us choose to move forward united for the goof of our families, our communities and our country," he said in a video address.
The address was released after the House of Representatives had voted to impeach the incumbent president who, however, said nothing about the impeachment in his five-minute address. Neither did he say anything about falsifications during the November presidential election as he says been claiming ever since.
