Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that "it would be logical to expect new approaches" from Vladimir Zelensky

UNITED NATIONS, April 22. /TASS/. President-elect Vladimir Zelensky may take a different approach to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine’s southeast, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky told TASS on Monday.

"A new person also means new possibilities. That is why it would be logical to expect new approaches from him [Zelensky], in particular to the conflict settlement in Donbass," the diplomat said. "Everything must proceed in accordance with the Minsk agreements and a dialogue with his own people, instead of attempts to blame Russia for everything," he added.

Ukraine’s presidential runoff took place on April 21. With 99.83% of the vote counted, leader of the Servant of the People political party Vladimir Zelensky has received 73.22%, while incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko gained 24.46%. The inauguration is to take place no later than on May 31.
