Lavrov hashes over mandate extension for OSCE's Ukraine mission

The mandate for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine expires on March 31

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation with incumbent Chair of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Slovakian Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak to discuss prolonging the mandate for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement published on Wednesday reads.

"The parties conferred about the upcoming extension of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine with special emphasis on the country’s respect for the language, education, religion and other rights of national minorities," the Ministry said.

The mandate for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine expires on March 31, 2019.
