The second US-North Korea summit took place in Hanoi on February 27-28. In the run-up to the meeting, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stated that together, Pyongyang and Washington can overcome problems and distrust, while US President Donald Trump called Kim Jong Un "a great leader" and promised to realize North Korea’s "tremendous economic potential". However, the sides failed to sign an agreement on the outcomes of the summit, reaffirming the commitment to continue the talks at a later time.
