Ukrainian president uses UN platform for his presidential campaign, says Russian envoy
Earlier, Poroshenko presented an appeal to the UN Secretary General, where he urges to "press on Moscow" to release the Ukrainian sailors captured in the Kerch Strait for the breach of Russian borders
UN, February 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Permanent Envoy to the UN Vasily Nebenzya stated that Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko used the UN General Assembly as a platform for his presidential campaign.
"Today, it is fashionable to state that Russia is "highly likely" to blame for everything. There is no proof needed for that," Nebenzya noted during Wednesday’s session of the General Assembly, held at the request of Ukraine. "And now, this thesis and this speech have become part of the electoral campaign of President Poroshenko, who has brought it here, to the General Assembly."
Earlier, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, Poroshenko has presented an appeal to the UN Secretary General, in which he urges him to "press on Moscow" to release the Ukrainian sailors captured in the Kerch Strait for the breach of Russian borders. The Ukrainian leader labeled the incident in the Kerch Strait as an unprovoked attack, accused Moscow of information war, militarization of the Azov-Black Sea Region, and the desire to take over all Ukraine’s territory.
