KIEV, January 24. /TASS/. Kiev’s Obolon District Court has found former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich not guilty on the count of violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, one of Yanukovich’s attorneys Vitaly Serdiuk informed TASS on Thursday.
The court "has found Yanukovich not guilty of losing Crimea, that is, under Article 110 (on violating the territorial integrity of the country - TASS) the court has acquitted him," the lawyer said.
Serdiuk added that the court’s verdict on other two counts is illegal, stating that it "will be cancelled in higher instances".
Earlier, Kiev’s Obolon District Court has sentenced former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich to 13 years behind bars in absentia in the high treason case.
Yanukovich was charged on three counts, specifically, high treason, complicity in conducting an aggressive war and complicity in the encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability resulting in loss of life or other grave consequences.
