Russian military has delivered warm clothes, toys, school backpacks and stationeries to an orphanage in Aleppo
DAMASCUS, December 4. /TASS/. Military of Russia’s Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria has delivered warm clothes, toys, school backpacks and stationeries to an orphanage in Aleppo, a spokesman for the center said on Tuesday.
"The servicemen of the Russian Reconciliation Center have delivered to the orphanage warm clothes, toys, sweets, school backpacks and writing materials, a total of 80 sets," Major General Sergey Popov said.
This orphanage is home to 75 girls aged between 3 and 17, whose parents were killed in the combat actions. "There was the war here and shells and missiles were fired. But we had to feed children and that’s why we worked at a small market nearby to earn money for food for the girls. Now this is back in the past, but one problem remains - the narrow premises, and that’s why we are planning to build the second floor of the building," Head of the orphanage Djuma Maqi said.
The Russian Reconciliation Center plans to supply New Year presents to all orphanages in Aleppo. "New Year presents from Russia will be delivered to all orphanages in Aleppo," Popov said.
