Serbian president informs foreign ambassadors and diplomats about Kosovo's new tariffs
Kosovo has earlier imposed 100% tariffs on all goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
BELGRADE, November 21. /TASS/. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic informed foreign ambassadors and diplomats about recent imposition of 100% tariffs by Kosovo on all goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the presidential press service reported on Wednesday.
"The president told [Russian Ambassador] Alexander Chepurin and [Chinese Ambassador] Li Manchang that Pristina's measures lead to complete destabilization and may escalate the conflict. Ambassadors Chepurin and Li expressed full support for Serbia's efforts to resolve the crisis by peaceful means, with respect to norms of international law and existing agreements. The president and ambassadors agreed to maintain daily contacts until the crisis caused by Pristina is overcome," the press service said.
Vucic also held a meeting with ambassadors of Western countries and head of EU delegation in Serbia. "The president warned about possible concequences of Pristina's irresponsible act of hiking tariffs. He expressed hope that Western countries and the European Commission will highlight for Pristina the unacceptability of unilateral measures that increase the risk of escalation and threaten peace and stability in the region. The diplomats in attendance expressed concern over possible destabilization and prospects for future dialogue, calling on the president and government to rationally and calmly start resolving the crisis," the press service added.
