SOCHI, November 20. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar have discussed further work on the Idlib demilitarized zone and the situation in Syria in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.

"We are glad to welcome you to Sochi. We had to invite you, because the situation in Syria requires our immediate decision and discussion of the urgent issues. The dynamics we have gained after signing the documents on Idlib in Sochi needs to be maintained to tackle the remaining issues without losing momentum," Shoigu said.

The two ministers’ previous meeting was held in Istanbul on October 27 and was likewise dedicated to the situation in Syria.

The Idlib demilitarized zone was set up in accordance with the Russian-Turkish memorandum signed in Sochi on September 17 following talks between the Russian and Turkish presidents.
