CSTO leaders call for security dialogue with Europe, Asia and America

The leaders also expressed readiness to strengthen regional operational and preventive measures for countering the illegal turnover of drugs, cyber-crime, illegal migration and mercenary activities

ASTANA, November 8. /TASS/. The leaders of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) spoke for a substantive dialogue with Europe and America for building uniform and indivisible security space, according to a declaration adopted at the CSTO summit in Astana on Thursday.

"We stand for a substantive dialogue of all the countries of the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian space on the joint efforts to develop conditions for building uniform and indivisible security space free of dividing lines," the declaration reads.

The CSTO leaders also noted their commitment to the consolidation of the Organization’s efforts in the fight against present-day challenges and threats and expressed their readiness to strengthen regional operational and preventive measures for countering the illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, cyber-crime, illegal migration and mercenary activities.

Members of the CSTO Collective Security Council stated their firm intention to contribute to further improving the Organization’s multidimensional activity. The heads of state expressed their gratitude to Kazakhstan for its successful presidency in the CSTO in 2018 and expressed their confidence that Kyrgyzstan’s upcoming chairmanship in the post-Soviet security bloc in 2019 would be efficient.
