Armenia sends 100-tonne humanitarian aid to Syria
The cargo consists of food and essentials
HMEYMIM /Syria/, July 13. /TASS/. Russian Ilyushin Il-76 multi-purpose strategic airlifters have landed at the Syrian air base Hmeymim carrying a 100-tonne humanitarian cargo of food and daily necessities from Armenia, the Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides in Syria said on Saturday.
"The Armenian-Russian center for humanitarian response has delivered buckwheat and rice cereals, vegetable oil and daily necessities from Armenia to Syria on three flights by the Il-76 planes of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations," the center said. "Overall, about 100 tonnes of food and essentials have been delivered as humanitarian aid for the Syrians."
The food products will be distributed among Syrians in need and refugees returning to their towns and villages liberated from militants, including in the hard-to-reach areas.
