YEREVAN, May 5. /TASS/. Armenia’s opposition leader, candidate for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan weighs several scenarios for the early parliamentary election, he told reporters after his talks with culture figures on Saturday.

"Now my team and I are viewing a few scenarios of holding the snap parliamentary election. Everything will depend on the actual political situation," Pashinyan said without specifying which plans he meant.

He added that if elected prime minister, he would hold the snap election only in case he is "convinced that there are all grounds for legitimate and transparent voting."

"We will have to amend the election code for this purpose," he underlined.

Pashinyan also said that he does not rule out cooperation with members of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) if elected the head of government.

"Our possible cooperation will depend on the actual political situation. I mean the voting by RPA members. Many various situations are possible which will show the future course of events," he said adding that his goal was "to create a government of reconciliation, but time will show how the events might be unfolding."

Armenia’s parliament is due to vote for a new prime minister on May 8.
