Russian military seize 1.5 tonnes of explosives from militants’ depots in Syria

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. The Russian military continue humanitarian operations to normalize the situation in Syria’s Douma. As many as 250 land mines, 25 kilograms of trinitrotoluol and 1.5 tonnes of other explosives were seized from militants’ depots during the past day, chief of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria Yuri Yevtushenko said on Monday.
"Yesterday, with the assistance of Russian reconciliation center and military police officers, munitions and explosives were seized from depots and hideouts organized by militants of the Jaysh al-Islam illegal armed group. In all, 250 land mines, 25 kilograms of trinitrotoluol, 1.5 tonnes of other explosives and 1,520 fuses were seized and handed over to the Syrian army command," he said.

Apart from that, according to Yevtushenko, people are returning to Eastern Ghouta from refugee camps. Drinking water was delivered to the settlement of Salhiyah in the province of Deir ez-Zor, and clothes - to the settlement of Marrat. Sixty-two Syrian received medical assistance from Russian military doctors during the day.
"During the day, as many as 190 people returned to their homes in the province of Homs, 520 - in the province of Deir ez-Zor, and 580 - to Eastern Ghouta," he said.
