RIO DE JANEIRO, August 11. /TASS/. Inna Deriglazova of Russia was won gold in women’s foil individual at the Olympic Games in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday.
In the final bout, Deriglazova defeated Elisa Di Francisca of Italy 12-11.
The other Russian athlete, Aida Shanaeva was defeated by Ines Boubakri of Tunisia 11-15 in the bronze medal bout.
Deriglazova’s Olympic gold medal is the first one for Russia in this discipline since 1968.
This medal is the 14th one won by Russia at the Rio Games. In all, Russia has four gold medals, seven silver medals and three bronze medals.
