RIO DE JANEIRO, August 7 /TASS/. Russian tennis player Anastasiya Pavlyuchenkova has defeated Magda Linette of Poland in the first round women’s single match of the Olympic tournament in Rio de Janeiro.

The match lasted for 1 hour and 5 minutes and ended in two straight sets in Pavlyuchenkova’s favor 6-0; 6-3.

In the last 16, the Russian will meet the winner of a match between Monica Puig (Ouerto Rico) and Polona Hercog (Slovenia).

Women’s singles Olympic tennis final will take place on August 13.
