MOSCOW, February 11 /TASS/. Soviet football legend Anatoly Ilyin has died at the age of 84, Yevgeny Lovchev, a Spartak Moscow veteran told TASS.

Striker Anatoly Ilyin played for the Spartak football club most of the time in his professional career (1949-1962). He was five times USSR champion (1952, 1953, 1956, 1958 and 1962); won two silver and one bronze medal at the championship (1954 and 1955) and (1957 and 1961), respectively. He won the USSR Cup in 1950 and 1958. Ilyin won the Olympic gold in a match against Yugoslavia in 1956. He also scored the first goal in the history of UEFA Cups and European championships on the 41st minute in a match vs. Hungary.

Ilyin is the cavalry of the Order of the Badge of Honor and the Order of Friendship.
