Russian tycoon becomes sole owner of the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center

Up until now, Prokhorov had 80% of the team and 45% of the Brooklyn arena

NEW YORK, December 23. /TASS/. Russian tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov has completed his total acquisition of the NBA team and arena from developer Bruce Ratner’s Forest City Enterprises Inc, Bloomberg reports.

The deal values the acquisition of Brooklyn Nets at $875, and Barclays Center at another $825 million, which is about 10% lower than the earlier reported by Bloomberg value of the team and arena - $1.9 billion.

Up until now, Prokhorov had 80% of the team and 45% of the Brooklyn arena.

In 2009, the Russian billionaire bought the Brooklyn Nets when the team was based in New Jersey. In 2012, the club moved to Brooklyn to Barclays Center built by Prokhorov.
