An international children's football tournament and a ceremony launching the countdown clock with 1,000 days to go until the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia were held on September 18 in Moscow. The 2018 tournament will take place in 11 cities across Russia - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Samara.
