KAZAN, August 3. /TASS/. A total of four sets of medals will be contested on Monday during the 2015 FINA Aquatic Championships in Kazan. Winners in swimming will be determined, a women’s water polo tournament will continue, and high diving competitions will begin.
After nine days of competitions the Russian national team ranks second in the overall medal standing, having won 13 medals (8 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze).
China currently leads in the overall medal count (11 gold medals, 9 silver, 3 bronze medals). The US squad comes third (4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals).
The 2015 FINA (the International Swimming Federation) World Championships is being held in Kazan, the capital of the Volga Republic of Tatarstan, between July 24 and August 9. The event has brought together some 2,400 athletes from over 190 countries.
