MOSCOW, September 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian pole vault queen Yelena Isinbayeva intends to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the athlete's coach said on Wednesday.

Two-time Olympic champion Isinbayeva who gave birth to a daughter in June is currently staying in Monte Carlo but plans to return to her native city of Volgograd in late September, Yevgeny Trofimov said.

"We have very serious intentions to compete in the Games in Rio de Janeiro," he said.

"She has not lost motivation to continue her sports career after the daughter's birth," the coach added.

Isinbaeva, 32, won her third world title in August 2013 and then announced a break from her career to start a family.
