Russia grabs 2014 Youth Olympics gold in men’s 4x100 m medley relay

NANJING, August 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian swimmers brought their team more gold of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games after winning on Wednesday in men’s 4x100 meters medley relay in China’s Nanjing.

The quarter of Russian swimmers, consisting of Evgeny Rylov, Aleksandr Sadovnikov, Anton Chupkov and Filip Shopin, finished the relay with an aggregated result of 3 minutes and 38.02 seconds.

Germany’s Maximilian Pilger, Damian Wierling, Alexander Kunert and Marek Ulrich finished 0.32 seconds behind the Russian swimmers to take the silver of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympics held in China’s Nanjing between August 16 and 28.

Australia’s quartet of Grayson Bell, Kyle Chalmers, Nicholas Brown and Nic Groenewald won the bronze with the result of 3 minutes and 40.68 seconds.

This was the second gold for Russia’s Rylov on Wednesday as earlier in the day he won in men’s 50 meters backstroke event.
