Fabio Capello is not going to leave his post of manager of Russia’s national football team despite it failed to leave the group at the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. The Italian coach said this at a news conference at ITAR-TASS.

“If I’m here, this means I will continue working with the team,” Capello said in reply to a question from an ITAR-TASS reporter.

Capello hopes projects developed by the Russian Football Union (RFU) will be successfully implemented.

“I would like to share my thought on this matter with representatives of the executive committee and the RFU management. I wish that the projects developed by RFU be implemented,” the team’s manager said.

 

Capello ready to tender resignation

Capello has stated that he didn’t re resign because he feels the RFU and Rusisa’s Ministry for Sports trust him. “Both RGU and the Ministry for Sports trust me,” the coach said.

“The development of football depends on joint efforts of clubs, RFU and the Sports Ministry. All they should engage in this project, and we should find the necessary people to implement this project,” Capello added.

Meanwhile, the Italian coach added that he was ready to tender resignation if he felt mistrust of people he worked with.

During a match of Russia’s Super Cup July 26 in Krasnodar (CSKA – Rostov: 3-1) the tribunes whistled at the announcement that Capello was present at the match.

“In Krasnodar, people were dissatisfied,” Capello said. “But when we went to Brazil, everyone was happy. High hopes were put on the national team. But I said two days earlier that the ball is round, and it’s either in the gates or not. We had it not on target. I do my job zestfully and I see trust of people who surround me. If I’m not trusted, don’t disturb yourself, the resignation will take place, and I’m ready for it. I’m a serious person. I respect my job and the people, my father taught me to do so. The most important to do now is to understand on what level we are in global football.”

 

Russian footballers are not used to play at high speed

Capello said the Russian national team was prepared very well for the World Cup, but failed to play at high speed.

“We prepared very well for the World Cup, but the tournament in Brazil was notable for the highest speed; the teams played very densely. But Russian players were not used to play at such speed, and I’ve told this the Russian coaches,” Capello said.

The coach added that his assistants worked perfectly at the World Cup. “All the people who were beside me worked excellently,” Capello said.
