Russian national team leads in amount of Olympic medals

Speed skaters Viktor Ahn and Vladimir Grigoriev won gold and silver in men’s 1000 meters at the sochi Olympics
SOCHI, February 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian national team is leading in the amount of Olympic medals won. It has 14: 3 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals. Teams of the Netherlands, Norway and USA have 13 medals each.
Russian athletes have won gold and silver in men's 1000 short track race. Viktor Ahn came first (1 minute 25.325 seconds) and Vladimir Grigoriev came second (1.25.399). Dutch speed skater Sjinkie Knegt won bronze (1.25.611). Russia’s Semion Yelistratov did not qualify to finals and was sixth in overall ranking.
Earlier, Russia’s figure skating team won gold in team event. Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov also won gold in pair figure skating event.
