Over 950,000 tickets sold for Sochi events as of Olympics Day 5
Olympic collectible pins are in great demand among visitors in Sochi and suppliers barely make it in time replenishing stocks of souvenir shops
SOCHI, February 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Over 950,200 tickets for 2014 Winter Games have been sold as of Wednesday, which marks Day 5 of the two-week Olympics marathon in Russia’s resort city of Sochi, a spokeswoman for the Sochi Games organizing committee said.
“As of today, 950,219 tickets have been sold,” Alexandra Kosterina told a daily Olympic news conference. “Some 75,000 people visited Olympic park on Tuesday.”
She added that 62,000 tickets were sold for Olympic competitions held on Tuesday, which offered eight sets of medals in various sports events.
Kosterina pointed out that Olympic collectible pins are in great demand among visitors in Sochi and suppliers barely make it in time replenishing stocks of souvenir shops. She pledged that the needs of collectors and sports fans in Olympic collectibles will be fully satisfied.
