Sochi airport fulfils two-week norm for four busy days at Olympics

Sochi International Airport has serviced 47,420 departing and arriving passengers and around 1,100 flights in the period from February 6 to February 9, the press service of Basel Aero, a joint venture of Basic Element, Sberbank of Russia and Changi Airports International, told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
Sochi International Airport is a member of Basel Aero.
Thus, for four days during the Winter Olympic Games in Russia’s Black Sea resort the airport has almost fulfilled its two-week norm of January 2014.
For January the airport has serviced around 102,000 passengers.
According to Basel Aero, for four days almost 30,000 people have arrived in the Winter Olympics host city. The airport has serviced 546 flight arrivals.
“During busy days Sochi International Airport has processed 43,152 kilograms of cargoes, of them 39,249 kilograms are mainly, athletes’ equipment and journalists’ luggage and equipment, personal things of athletes and guests of the Games. Another 3,903 kilograms were sent from Sochi,” the press service said.
