Sochi in need of successful management after the Olympics – Peskov
Development of Sochi as a centre of international tourism after the Games will depend on successful management
MOSCOW, February 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Press Secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, says development of Sochi as a centre of international tourism after the Games will depend on successful management.
“On one hand, the Olympic Games may be of assistance, on the other, it may have no effect whatsoever,” he said in an interview with the Kommersant FM radio station on Monday. “Everything will depend on successful management, at the levels of both the government and the owner.”
The Olympic Games offer “a wonderful chance to the city.”
“It is most important to manage them, to survive over following several years, which will be very complicated from the profitability point of view,” Peskov said. “It will be very complicated for businesses to repay the investments, but I am sure later on the city will offer internationally competitive prices.”
