BEIJING, August 24. /TASS/. Russian pentathletes Yegor Gromadsky and Andrey Bobrov won silver on Monday in the men’s relay at the 2026 UIPM Pentathlon World Championships in China.

The gold went to the team of Ross Charlton and Sebastian Forrest from the UK, while Germany’s Marvin Dogue and Moriz Klinkert took the bronze.

Earlier in the day, Russia’s Viktoria Sazonova and Yana Solovyova took the championship’s silver in the women’s relay.

Running in China’s Guiyang on August 23-30, this year's world championships mark Russia's first appearance since 2019.

On July 9, the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) announced a decision to lift all previously-imposed sanctions against Russia. Russian athletes are now participating in all UIPM sponsored international events under the country’s flag and to the tune of the national anthem.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced a decision on July 7 to provisionally lift an earlier-imposed suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and also recommended lifting restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes in all international tournaments.
