MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. The World Triathlon Executive Board has allowed Russian athletes to compete under their national flag and anthem, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev said on his Telegram channel.

"Our athletes will be able to compete in national uniforms under the Russian flag, and the Russian national anthem will be played in case of a victory. I congratulate the Russian Triathlon Federation and the athletes on this decision," Degtyarev wrote.

In July, World Triathlon allowed Russian athletes to compete in mixed relays. Earlier, the governing body approved Russian junior triathletes to compete in its events without restrictions. Adult Russian athletes participated under neutral status until now.
