WASHINGTON, June 25. /TASS/. As group stage matches at the FIFA World Cup 2026 near completion, 13 national teams have already secured berths in the knockout stage of the quadrennial world football championship.

Making it to the Round of 32 so far are Mexico, South Africa, Switzerland, Canada, Brazil, Morocco, the United States, Germany, France, Norway, Argentina, Colombia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Only one knockout match is already officially slated - Canada vs South Africa.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States between June 11 and July 19. The matches are staged in 16 cities across the three countries. This is be the first FIFA World Cup featuring 48 teams instead of the previous 32-team format.
