Putin signs law bringing Russia’s anti-doping legislation in compliance with WADA Code
All-Russia national as well as regional sports federations in addition to professional sports leagues will be required to comply with anti-doping rules
MOSCOW, June 24. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law bringing the country's anti-doping legislation in compliance with international standards.
The document establishes the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) as an entity within the physical culture and sports system, meaning the agency needs to become a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code.
Moreover, RUSADA is now obliged to post on its website all anti-doping regulations and other documents approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and international anti-doping agencies.
The document requires that the prevention of doping abuse in sports and the fight against it are carried out strictly in line with the international treaties of the Russian Federation, the World Anti-Doping Code, the anti-doping regulations approved by international anti-doping organizations and the All-Russian anti-doping regulations.
It states in particular that the All-Russian anti-doping regulations must include provisions stated in the World Anti-Doping Code.
